That’s right the big question of what world is real, what world is fake, and everything in between is answered in this ep. Needless to say I am getting a headache from watching all these overly philosophical and complex anime episodes. T_T And let me warn you now, nothing is what it seems.

On that note let’s get this review started, with one exception though. I am going to skip some big parts simply because I don’t want to spoil this ep for anyone, and this is definitely one ep you DON’T want spoiled, its just that good.

First off if you watch the op its slightly different with a few new scenes added in, so make sure not to skip it.

The episode starts off where we last left off with Kyo and Shizuno having just got knocked down buy some guy named Abyss. Kyo freaks out and looses control because he can’t believe there is another human, but Shizuno tells him it’s just artificial and he seems to calm down. Of course during this time Abyss was beating them up like crazy, so Lu Sheng and Mei Yin come to rescue them. However, that doesn’t last long and then they start to get beaten up by Abyss. Now with Kyo having regained his nerve he heads off to help them out. Unfortunately Abyss has Lu Sheng and Mei Yin pinned down, so they teleport out of Zegapain Garuda and put it in self-destruct mode. In the end this seems to have little effect on Abyss, and Kyo being pissed off like normal goes in to attack him. Abyss then somehow makes two duplicates of his mecha and then they all attach Kyo. Thankfully Kyo takes one of them out, but then he gets slammed with lasers by Abyss, and finally the other duplicate comes in for the kill and latches onto them. Now this is when things get really weird; Shizuno starts to dissolve into green dust and to top it off so does Kyo’s arm. (Think back to the first episode) Then out of nowhere a new Zegapain comes in and takes out Abyss.

Next thing we know Kyo is waking up in his bed. He is obviously very disturbed and checks his arm to make sure its still there and of course it is. He then goes out for a walk wondering what is truly reality, and on his walk the AIs happen to appear and explain some rather important things to him. The rest of the day is spent rather normally, but Kyo begins to notice odd things. Like why is his mother never home? Later in the day he takes Ryoko for a walk, and the two stop to grab some candy. However, when Ryoko pays for it she just leaves the money on the counter because there is no clerk and the next thing we know the money just disappears.

Later on Ryoko talks about going to Tokyo so Kyo drags her to the train station, but when they get there she won’t get on it saying that she doesn’t like the feel of it. So, Kyo ends up going all alone. However, when the train stops he is back at the station with Ryoko just sitting on the bench. So, he gets on again and this time Shizuno appears. She finally tells him exactly what is going on, what is fake, and what happened to the world. I’ll just end it here by saying that Kyo wasn’t to happy to find out what happened to everything.

One great thing about this episode was the quality of the animation it is probably the best looking episode so far. Not to mention we learned the answer to a major question. The story is definitely developing really well at this point. I can’t wait to see more this is definitely looking to be the best mecha show of the season!

Spoilers below!

Ok now that a big question has been answered several new questions pop up. Like how does this computer that has all their data on it run? I mean if there are no humans in the real world then how was the computer built? Also, why is it just Kyo and the gang that are fighting why isn’t everyone? I mean they are all just data now so why arn’t they all fight against Galzolm to save the memories of mankind, or even why fight at all?

Well those are the main questions on my mind now. Thankfully it will be a bit easier to understand things from now on since I finally have a definite idea of what the world they live in is.
